Not to be missed in Amalfi are the 3 museums:
From the Amalfi harbour it is possible to take a boat to visit the beautiful Grotta dello Smeraldo.
The closest beach is "Lido delle Sirene", there the sea is wonderful and you can swim in a cave and stay in the two adjacent natural pools. It is possible to pay only the entrance of 6 euros without taking a sunbed and umbrella (the structure naturally creates a shaded area) and be able to use all the services available (bar, restaurant, showers, bathroom ...)
If you don't want a crowded beach this is the right choice!
With the boat from the harbour it is possible to reach two other wonderful beaches, Lido degli Artisti and Santa Croce.
From Pogerola (a small town 1,5 km above the villa ) it is possible to reach walking one of the most beautiful Paths on the coast, the Valle delle Ferriere; where you can see a fern dating back to the Cenozoic, as well as some protected salamander species living in this valley.
Another scenic path reachable from Pogerola is the Madonna dei Fuondi Path
To reach the Path of the Gods: in Amalfi main square get the bus to AGEROLA, ask the bus driver where to step off to reach the path in the easiest way.
At the end of the Path you will arrive in a location called “NOCELLE”, there you should get the shuttle to reach the Positano centre and, in summer season, you should get a ferry to come back to Amalfi (check the ferry timetable)
Strongly recommended to see Ravello, with its two Villas (Cimbrone and Rufolo), the mosaics into the mediaeval Church in the main square and the Coral Museum. Other towns are:Paestum, founded by Greeks in 600 a.C., where it is possible to visit archeological area with greek temples and and museum.
Pompeii and Herculaneum with their archaeological sites.
